HikaShop 6.2.0 is here to start the year with a bang! This new version brings compliance with new EU regulations, enhances multimedia capabilities for products, expands geolocation options, and introduces powerful automation tools with MCP integration.
In this post, we'll highlight the main changes you'll want to know about.

Dashboard customization

While the HikaShop dashboard offers a clean and pleasant interface, we understand that one size doesn't fit all. To address this, HikaShop 6.2.0 introduces full dashboard customization via a new "Dashboard configuration" button found at the top right of the dashboard.

You can now effortlessly drag and drop widgets to rearrange your layout, resize them to fit your workflow, and organize key metrics exactly how you want them. We've also included "Presets" to instantly switch between focused layouts, such as "Orders" (for managing order listings) or "Maps" (for geolocation insights).

Widgets are now fully configurable: you can customize titles, fine-tune data visualization options (like map regions or colors), and filter listings to show precisely what matters to you. Additionally, your dashboard configuration can be exported and imported, making it easy to transfer detailed setups between HikaShop installations.

Last but not least, the dashboard now creates a bridge with the "Orders > Reports" menu. You can integrate any existing report directly into your dashboard, unlocking advanced widgets for best sellers, category performance, coupon usage, and more.

"Locked" mechanism for orders

We've added a new "Locked" column for order statuses in the System > Order statuses menu.

This allows you to define which order statuses are considered "locked". When an order switches to a locked status, it becomes immutable from the HikaShop backend, preventing any further changes. Only its status cn be changed to another locked status. This can be essential for maintaining order integrity once processing has begun and the invoice is available to the customer.

MCP trigger for mass actions

Automation takes a leap forward with the new MCP (Model Context Protocol) trigger for Mass Actions.

This powerful addition opens up new possibilities for connecting HikaShop with AI assistants and other MCP-compliant tools, allowing for intelligent, context-aware automated actions on your store. You can now trigger mass actions directly from external MCP clients, passing dynamic context for sophisticated workflows.

YouTube / Vimeo / Dailymotion video support

Product images just got a major upgrade! You can now directly integrate videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion into the images area of your products.

This allows for a richer customer experience, letting you showcase your products in action without needing complex workarounds. Simply add the video URL in the image management area, and HikaShop handles the rest.

FindIP.net integration for the geolocation plugin

The geolocation plugin now supports the geolocation service FindIP.net.

This new integration provides another reliable option for detecting your customers' locations, ensuring that you can offer the right currency, tax rates, and shipping options automatically based on where your visitors are coming from.

Withdrawal mechanism for EU Directive 2023/2673

Compliance is key. We've implemented a new withdrawal mechanism to help you comply with the new EU Directive 2023/2673.

This feature ensures that your shop handles withdrawals in accordance with the latest legal requirements, providing peace of mind and legal safety for your business in the European Union. In order to use it, you can enable order statuses under the "Withdrawable" column in the System > Order statuses menu. In such cases, you'll usually want to enable the "shipped" status. Also, note that we've added a new setting "Number of days after delivery for withdrawal window" in the HikaShop configuration to be able to configure the delay from the order being changed to that order status to the withdrawal becoming unavailable for the user.

CSS Grid System

The frontend grid system has been completely modernized! We've migrated from a legacy float-based layout to a robust CSS Grid implementation.

This change brings significant improvements to your store's layout stability and performance. It eliminates browser-specific issues (like the infamous Safari sub-pixel rounding errors), simplifies the CSS codebase, and provides native, glitch-free support for Right-to-Left (RTL) languages without complex overrides. The default responsive behavior has also been refined to ensure your products look great on any screen size.

Export fields selection

We've added a new interface to select exactly which columns you want to export in your CSV files for both products and orders when you use the "Export" button in the "Products" or "Orders" menu.

You'll find these new "Export fields" settings in the Configuration > Files section. Each export type works independently, allowing you to define different sets of columns for products and orders. For orders, we've also added a handy "One product per row" option. When enabled, this duplicates the order information for each product in the order, generating one row per order line item instead of duplicating the product columns.

As usual, there is a lot more to discover about HikaShop 6.2.0, with bug fixes but also many smaller improvements and other features. You will find all these elements detailed in our change log.

Keep in touch folks.
