Hi Nicolas and thanks for your reply. You can see for example in this site test in Italian language. You can click on the "Photo Whisker" product in the Win or Mac versions: everything is fine.
Then add any of the variant to the cart: the popup that confirms the successful insertion displays the name of the product untranslated.
Then go to the cart (menu item "Carrello" under "Negozio"): here again product and variant names are untranslated.
Maybe also the email of the order has untranslated names.
Have I been able to clearly describe the problem?
thanks a lot

Hi,

Thanks for the details. I've added a patch for that. Download again the install package of HikaShop on our website and install it on yours to get the patch and see how it goes for you.

Thanks Nicolas, very quick and works perfectly!
Maybe in a future release HikaShop would allow a multipanel to add titles and descriptions in the different languages :P
cheers

Hi,

Yes, I'm actually thinking of having the same interface as we have with the integration with Falang were you have a flag for each translation with a popup where you can enter the text for each language and it would generate the translation key overrides automatically for you.

It would be useful that the popup presenta a WYSIWYG editor and not Justin the text only form of the language override

Hi Nicolas, I made additional tests and found other untranslated texts:

  • description of product
  • meta description of product
  • breadcrumb - maybe this is harder and we need a specific HikaShop breadcrumb module?
Waiting for your fixes :)
If you need additional info, just tell me.
cheers and thanks

Yes, that's what the interface already does for Falang for the description translation and what I was thinking of doing too.

Hi,

1. I see the description translated everywhere I can see on my end. So I would need more details to understand what you mean.

2. The meta_description translation is not yet supported via translation overrides so that's normal. We only did the name and the description for now. But yes, we'll look at adding that.

3. That's a good point. We'll look at have the breadcrumb properly translated.

For point 1: descriptions of variants work, descriptions of product don't. You can see at this link

Also I found that Payment description is not translated. I keep testing :)

Hi,

1. No it works, but you have extra <p> and </p> tags in your description on this page:
monosnap.com/file/7L7uldhsw1zqCUv7bEpeWpHsKfnGLs
I suppose these are added automatically by your HTML editor and because of that the translation key is not correct.

2. The payment and shipping methods description translation is not supported yet. That's something we're planning on adding to HikaShop 4.3.0

Ok, thanks. So to summarize next release would probably address:

  • product metadescription
  • payment description
  • shipping description
  • breadcrumb
Waiting for HikaShop 4.3 :)
cheers

Note that next release will be the 4.2.3 and it will be out in a few days.

The 4.3.0 will probably be in 1 or 2 months from now.

Hi, today you just released 4.2.3 with a lot of improvements to language override, thanks!
I just noticed two points when viewing a category page in front-end:

  • metadescription seems not to be translated (it is ok for products)
  • the title of the RSS feed taken from the category name is not translated
cheers

Hi,

Which meta description are you talking about ? On which page exactly ?
For the RSS feed, that's a good point, we didn't change them yet to support translations of the product names, descriptions nor category names and descriptions. We'll look at adding that for the next release.

here you can see a test page

The metadescription is the one of the global site, not the one from the current category (SHOP_CAT_LIGHTROOM_PLUGIN_METADESC).

Hi,

What is the type of your menu item on that page ?
Note that if you enter a meta description in the settings of the menu item, then it overrides the meta description of the category.
So make sure you don't have a meta descriptino in the settings of the menu item.

Sorry Nicolas, I better explain: the problem is that the metadescription of the category is not used (it's not a problem of language override), no metadescription appears in the head (while it appears when viewing a product).
Also creating a menu item of type "Categories listing" or "Product listing" associated to the category, when the user is on a category page, the metadescription inserted in the backend does not appear.
Can you confirm this?
Thanks, best regards

Giuse

One additional place where language override is missing: the category title when shown in the dashboard (best category)
thanks
