I would like to know if Hikaserial can work in my case.

A company who have different stores in different cities. They sell on-line goods that user can fisically take later in those stores. So company do not send goods, just let users take goods into fisical stores after payment. Now, when people go to the store they must give them the proof that they really bought that good.

I thought that this could be done with Hikashop and Hikaserial....?

How to if possible?

Stores do not have access to main e-commerce admin area, so they cannot check if that order really corresponds. Could they indeed check the serial that people print? I mean, people buy online, a serial number is generated and they download the serial number and print it.
Then they go to the store and show the serial number. How can the store check this serial number is true? (they cannot access admin area)

Any idea or solution?

Hi,

If the stores does not have access to Internet, I am not sure that HikaSerial will be the right solution.
HikaSerial have some web services so it is possible to check if a serial is valid or not without having access to the backend, but a access to the website is required.

It is possible to implement a special serial generator in order to have serial with some "security" (or checks) but it will be difficult to know if the serial has been already used or not without checking it in a central database.

Stores HAVE access to internet, just not have access to backend.

Thanks for reply.

Hi,

Ok, so it's a good news.

It is possible to use the "web services" of HikaSerial.
Some services allow to check the status of the serial (if the serial exists, if the serial is used or not, etc).
Some services allow to "consume" the serial (to set it "used").

www.hikashop.com/en/hikashop/138-hikaserial-consume.html

A serial can be only consumed one time (when is status is "assigned").
You can use the webservices in HTML mode, show the pages in a internet browser or you can use/implement a specific software to call web services in XML (or JSON).
