Display Variant/Characteristic Name on eTicket?

Hi, I can generate an eTicket with the name of the parent product using the syntax:

Order Product...
order_product_name

but is it possible to display the name of the product variant on an eTicket generated by HikaSerial? I have tried using the following:

0.Order product option (Num.Name)...
order_product_name

but this does not display anything. In my case I have 2 options for my ticket, "ticket with wine" and "ticket without wine" that I would like to show on the ticket. What is the correct syntax to get these to display?

Thanks

Hi,

I do not understand your question.
You are talking about variant but you are using the "order product option" and then you are talking about two options.

I am sorry but I am a little bit lost.

Hi Jerome,

Apologies if my terminology is inaccurate. To clarify:

I have a product called"Event" which has two options with names "Event with wine" and "Event without wine". I would like to add the name of the option to the e-ticket so we can distinguish between the two options on the ticket.

Thanks

Hi,

You have to use "Order product option..." and enter the value : "0.order_product_name".
It will display the "order_product_name" of the first option attached to the product with the serial.

Hi,

So I will require some screenshot of your "attach serial" configuration and also of your product and test order.
I have to see the most global configuration to understand the environment and why it is not working.

Hi,

Word documents are unsecured so there are not allow in the forum.

your "attach serial" configuration and also of your product and test order.

You put the screenshot of the product in the front-end but I need the product in the backend and the test order, in the backend too.
I have to be sure that the "with wine" or "without wine" is right in the order and right attached as option for the main product.

Hi,

So, it's not an option, it's a characteristic.

I do not understand your question.
You are talking about variant but you are using the "order product option" and then you are talking about two options.

If it is not an option, you can't use the "Order product option".
You are already accessing to the order product, so to the variant of your product.
There is nothing to do.

Hi Jerome,

That is correct it is a variant (by option I was referring to the drop down 'option' that the user can select). The title of my original post should have made this clear.

Are you saying it is not possible to display information from the variant on the eTicket?

Hi,

I am saying that the order_product and the product are already the variant.

Hi Jerome,

The problem is though that the values of the variants, " with wine" and " without wine" only appear in the order-product options as part of a lengthy string (looking at the database table). How can these values be extracted and displayed on thee ticket?

Hi,

The plugin "attach serial" can't do anything if the data is not accessible in the database.
But note that you can access to the "product" which is the complete product in the database. So if you are using a product custom field, you can display the custom field value of the variant product using "product...."

Hi Jerome,

Ok so now I understand how it works. My original idea was to to try to use the "characteristic_value" from the "jmla_hikashop_characteristic" table for the variant and to display this value on the eTicket so we could distinguish the ticket type but it seems that this table is not accessible from the attachserial plugin?

However I have found a workable solution by assigning a more specific "product_name" to each variant which can easily be displayed on the ticket (the problem was that I had a "product_name" for the main product but not for the variants).

I have also used a custom field as you suggest, again populated on the variant and not the main product to specify additional information on the eticket.
