Go easy guys n gals, i'm new ;-)

I have built a site for free for my martial arts club @ www.northantstkd.co.uk and I 'was' using Virtuemart 2 but what a load of old tosh that is :-( .... anyway, so far I'm impressed with Hikashop and it all works how i want, apart from the display of products and categories. Unless I'm misunderstand something, i should be able to specify a grid layout for products and categories using the settings, rather than adjusting the code. Please check me and confirm so i know my next steps ... thanks :-)

Example: Both my categories and product pages display one per row as follows

and

If i adjust the number of columns and number of items, it makes no difference to my page. I know i'm editing the right menu, as I can change 'type of item layout' from image and description to image only for example and the change takes place on the page. If i adjust the columns though, it ignores me and sticks to one per row.

any ideas?

I have attached screen shots as the shop is not live yet and is registered to special users in J1.7. In addition, the shop will be deployed as student access only.

Thanks for any tips and pointers.

regards
Justin

It is very possible that there is a bug in the latest version. I had three columns before the upgrade and now i got one only. Settings have not been changed ! If thats the case there will be a fast update!

There was a bug in the latest version but it has been fixed.
Please re-download HikaShop 1.5.6

Thanks for this. I have downloaded the latest version and it's fixed one issue and created another, so nearly there ;-)

My categories now work as they should, nice one. Oddly though, my products have now dissapeared from view. Before updating, the layout was stuck to one per row for both categories and products, but now categories display 3 per row which is fine, but when i click on a category with 2 products in it, nothing shows in the proceeding page e.g no products.

Oddly, a test link which goes direct to one product works fine, but the products display page linked from the category is now blank. Joomla page title is there and everything other than products.

Justin

have a quick look at the modules. It is possible that during that little problem you had before downloading the latest update that you have serveral modules linking to the same menu. If you can see many assosiated modules for the same listing menu, just delete them all and open the menu again. It will ask you if you want automatically have a module for the products created, where you say yes. You can then make the finetuning on that module.

Hope it helped !
