Nothing SAVES. Everything reverts to default.

I have recently purchased HikaShop Essential and I am having serious problems configuring it. The problem is that a significant number of things do not SAVE when you click save.

For example the default tax zone is 1375 Rhone. When I change that to United States and click save, while there is a blue bar at the top of the page that says

"Your checkout workflow is empty.
Checkout workflow invalid. The modification is ignored. See the documentation for more information on how to configure that option
No valid weight unit entered. The system put back the default units.
No valid dimension unit entered. The system put back the default units.
Successfully Saved"

After the page reloads after I click save, the tax zone is back to 1375 Rhone. This is the same thing that is happening for nearly everything. I am able to add products and images but when I attempt to create a products page in a menu, any changes I make to the configuration go back to the defaults when I click save.

I tried to fix the checkout workflow but any changes I try to make to the workflow DO NOT SAVE.

In configuration --> files I try to change thumbnail dimensions, click save, but my changes DO NOT SAVE and revert to default.

Same for trying to create a products page from a menu, NOTHING SAVES.

HELP HELP HELP!

I need this fixed. I have read all the instructions, documentation, and searched the forum and cannot find an answer.
