In your menu's associated modules option, you should disable the categories listing module that you have enabled there and it won't display the categories below the products listing menu you have.

I'm so sorry to worry you yet again.... I can't seem to grasp this at all. I have now lost the link to the products listings from my menu. I have tried every option I can think of to get them showing again. It worked perfectly yesterday except for the problem I had of the categories also showing on the products module. I didn't change anything at all as far as I know. I really do appreciate your patience with me... and I'm sure sooner or later I will have switched on moment. I really do want to be able to get to know HikaShop as I would love to buy the full version - but I have to be able to get to know how to use it first. Thanks again.

Its been a long evening...but I think I've sorted my problem - sort of anyway - it's not exactly as I wanted but I could only add the main category heading, and not all the category items, to my vertical menu... so I gave up on that and I've made do with just making a listing of categories with a category module and changed the heading. Is there a tutorial on how to link a category module list to a vertical menu? It would have been nice to pick up the formatting on my template but I can live with the result I have.

I really appreciate the time you have given to my problem.... I am hopefully starting to realise now how the modules link to the menu. I think I still need some practice though.

Normally, just setting the UL class and the module class sfx options of the module should allow the moduel to pick up the style of your template. But then, it depends on how your template does it. Some template will require more than that as they have a specific HTML structure for menus.
Also, it won't work for main categories if you're displaying childs in the options of the module.
