I have a conference that involves the need for the customer to select several options/choices for the conference. The conference has 3 sessions and each session has from 3-4 speakers to choose from. Ex: Session 1 has speakers 1-4 and the customer must choose only one.

I just need some direction in how to create such a product that includes two stages of selections.

Example:

Conference 2013

Session 1
Choose a speaker

Session 2
Choose a speaker

Choose a lunch session
1 or 2

Session 3
Choose a speaker

All of this is one product. CAN THIS BE DONE?

Yes. You will need to create custom fields of the table "item" via the menu Display->Custom fields in the Business edition.

Where do these custom fields show up? It looks like they become part of the registration process. Am I wrong and they become part of the product listing?

If you create custom fields of the table "address", they will be part of the registration process.
If you create custom fields of the table "item", they will be displayed on the product page
