Products not showing when navigating to category

I've looked at the same issue here ( www.hikashop.com/en/forum/4-how-to/6820-...d-from-category.html ), but despite your being able to resolve this for other people, I am religiously following the steps but cannot get this to work for me.

The problem is basic: when using the main menu to navigate to a category, I can see the products. However, when clicking through category-by-category, the products don't display.

The steps I follow are:

1. Menus > Main Menu
2. New
3. HikaShop > COM_HIKASHOP_CATEGORY_VIEW_DEFAULT_TITLE
4. Enter title > Apply
5. HikaShop Options
6. Choose Associated Category > Apply
7. Automatic creation of associated product listing module by using "clicking here" hyperlink
8. Save
9. Display > Content modules
10. Associated products listing for category listing menu xx
11. Published "Yes"
12. Associated category (the top level "2 product category" is selected for some reason, so changed this to match the category that this associated product listing module was created for)
13. Save

"Menu" is set to "None" - is this correct?

With all steps carried out as instructed in the forum link I provided, I still can't see products in the desired category when I click through to it one -by-one. If I use the main menu to go to the same category, I can see the products fine. The URL for the menu link is spotkicksports.com/football/diamond/balls and the category link is spotkicksports.com/football/category/161-balls .

Where am I going wrong?

Step 11 and 12 are not necessary.

Could you do a screenshot of the hikashop options of your menu and of the associated module ? There must be another setting which is not ok. there.

These are the screenshots of the options for the menu which is working. I'm talking about the options of the menu which isn't working.

I'm not sure you've understood the problem. The menu items work fine - I'm having problems with the display of products when navigating to a category via the the category display rather than the menu.

For example, if I went to my website www.spotkicksports.com and clicked 'Football' from the menu, I would be presented with the sub-categories of Football in the content area (tiled across the page, 3 on each row). I would then click 'Diamond'. Finally, I would click 'Balls', at which point I am taken to a blank category with no products displayed.

Why do items display properly when using the menu, but not when using the sub-category links?

I understood your problem.
The screenshots that you gave are for the menu balls www.spotkicksports.com/football/diamond/balls which already displays the products properly.
What I would like is the screenshots for the menu football www.spotkicksports.com/football which does not display the products properly when you navigate through it to the products listing.

In that case, I can see where I have gone wrong. No content module had been created for the Football category - I have just created this and can the products when navigating through sub-categories one-by-one.

So, am I correct in thinking that all I need to do is create a content module for each top-level category, or does each sub-category need its own content module creating, too? For example, if I was to now delete the content module for Balls, would the product display stop working again?

Thank you for your help in my understanding of how HikaShop works. :cheer:

Both menus need an associated module as both menus are different.
However, what you can do is always use the same module. That way, when you set the display options for that module, it changes for all the menus.
