Set browser page title

Joomla allows you to control the page title ( <title> tag) via the "Browser Page Title" on a menu's Page Display Options.
However, this doesn't appear to work for Hika menus I've tried.
How can the browser's page title be set?

Since HikaShop 1.6.0, there is a page title option available when you edit products in the back end in order to be able to customize it.

Thanks Nicolas. I see it at the product level, but for Hika menu items, such as a category listing, I wasn't able to find anything specific to Hika, and what is set in Joomla's "Browser Page Title" is apparently overridden.

For listings, you need to set the page title option of your categories.

I couldn't make "category listing" browser title to make it to work.
It's not in the HikaShop Options as well.

I've modified "Page Display Options" in the menu but it didn't work.

Where can I look at it exactly.

Browser title is always show as "product category".

Hi,

You can enable the option "Use menu name instead of category name for the title" in the HikaShop menu parameters to use the menu name instead of the category name.

I experienced the same problem, trying to change the browser title "product category" to "name of my shop", but I found that if I changed the name "product category" to "the name of my shop" under the Root of my Hikashop Explorer under Categories in the Hikashop component. Well it worked.

I have a similar problem. i want different names of the hikashop product categories in the menu and on the page-heading. In the Hikashop categories i see there is a field "Name" and a field "page title". but "page title"seems not to have any effect - maybe it changes the browser page title but not the heading. Hikashop is taking for both - menu and page title always the input of the field "name". So how can i do that?

Hi,

When you edit a menu item you have a setting for the text displayed by the browser as title of the tab/window called "browser page title" and a setting for the text displayed by HikaShop at the top of the main content of the page called "Page heading":
monosnap.com/file/zpMjhzRKfKcs2dpndyFoUTVpeJA77e
Also, under the "products/categories options" tab you ave an option "Use the menu name as title":
monosnap.com/file/2CbP4zCpTKsQzjydngqDoidNIODlGc
So if you have that last option activated, the page heading will come from the "page heading" setting of Joomla. If that last option is deactivated, then the page heading will come from the name of the current category.
And the browser page title will come from that "browser page title" if filled in. Otherwise, it will use the page heading/category name selected.
