hi there,

It is quite emergent that I need to get the Paypal Pro to be displayed correctly during checkout.

I have set up :

1. API username

2. API password

3. API signature

4. Specify the corresponding shipping method

5. Turn on the Paypal Pro plugin.

But I still cannot see Paypal Pro show up during checkout. Please help me how to do it right?

Thank you very much. :)

Hi,

If you have set a corresponding shipping, it must be selected to display then the payment method.
Have you set a zone restriction on the payment method ?

Yes, I have set the zone to "Taiwan" and currency is "TWD".

Why can't I see Paypal Pro method appearing ?

For Username and Password, which one should I input? The Paypal account username and password Or the Paypal API username & password?

Thank you so much, dear. :)

Is it because I didn't force "SSL" during checkout so the Paypal Pro method cannot show up?

However, when I forced "SSL", the browser cannot load the page...and the speed became super slow. I cannot check if the Paypal Pro can show up or not?

What should I do?

Dear X.,

I found my web hosting doesn't have Secure Hosting. (I use Dreamhost)

Dreamhost says if I have secure hosting, then "A new self-signed certificate will be created for you. Once secure hosting is enabled on your domain, you will be able to order a real Secure Certificate. Until you do that, visitors to your secure site will recieve a warning." ...But, applying a secure hosting requires more budget.

I wondering if it is possible to use Paypal Pro not under "SSL". How can I modify the code and make Paypal Pro be used under http rather than https ?

I think Paypal Pro will transit the page to Paypal's webpage which has SSL,

so I think maybe SSL is not must-required in my page?

Hi,

You can use the PayPal Pro plugin without SSL. Just turn off SSL on your website. But we can't recommend that as in a lot of countries, it is against the law and it is forbidden by both Visa and Mastercard.

If you want the transaction to be secured without SSL, you need to use the PayPal Standard plugin.

In any case, that is not linked to the fact that you don't see the paypal pro payment method on your checkout. You say that your currency is TWD, however, PayPal Pro service is only offered by PayPal in the USA, Canada and UK. So if you're in Taiwan, it's normal that you don't see the payment method as you can't use it in that country. So really, you should go with PayPal Standard on your website.

Hi,

With the currency set to USD the PayPal Pro payment method will indeed display during the checkout. However, that doesn't mean that PayPal itself won't block you if your PayPal account cannot use PayPal Pro. It's worth trying if you really want to use PayPal Pro instead of PayPal Standard but I wouldn't hold my breath.
