Hi,
I have now got a pretty good grip on how to import Product name, categories, prices, currency, product description and images. Almost everything in order to make all so much faster when I have hundreds of
different products to be imported.
Now to my little issue and question.
I have imported this file (see attached csv format in UTF-8) and all works fine except for the variants.
I have them added as they are named under Products/Characteristics (found out how the export file from HikaShop are formatted and found that it should work with the alias for the characteristics (or maybe not?)
Anyway I trid exactly as in the added fiel and in the front end I got all flies listed with the Choose Options link which mean they do have the options added.
www.fly-tiers.se/index.php/en/hikashop-m...tegory/12-torrflugor
However when clicking the fly I wanna choose the hook size for there is no such option.
So i went to backend checking this particular product and voila here it is the characteristic and all look great. So what I did now is not simply close the view, I save it and then refresh the front end page and now the options are there.
I check some other flies to see if the same applies to the and it does.
Now as I have hudreds of flies I would like to know if I somehow could activate them all without having to go in to each product and save?

Hi,

In your csv file you didn't have product_type ?

It's not an option. In your csv file the structure has to include one colum "product_type"
product_type is "main" or "variant"

ok so if I use that it would activate the variant so I don't have to go into each product and press save for each product?
I'll give it a try...
It didn't work..

Hi,

You need to have one line per variant in your CSV file.
And you also need to have the product_parent_id column in your CSV to specify the main product code for each variant line.
I would recommend to create a product with variants via the interface and export it to see an exhaustive CSV for the product and its variants data.

Ok that's what I was afraid of. So when I just add one parameter then it's just lying there idel or in klike stand by mode?
Then I just have to go into the product editor and click save and close and it's done anyway, but in order to massimport then there's a lot of typing in the csv...
But thanks for clearifying this. There's no shortways to start a web shop B)
