Hi Hikashop team,

I am looking for a way to add custom output to the products in the category listing. I am in need of adding days of the week to products in that particular view.

Our store is going to sell food products that can be purchased on a specific day of the week only. We have made a menu that consists of 4 weeks with respectively 7 products for each week. We would like to indicate which dish relates to which day - Monday, Tuesday etc.

By default each product in the listing consists of image, price, name and add to cart button. Is it possible to add to that also a day of the week and the layout to be like this - image - price - name - add to cart - day ?

Here is a link to the store so that you can better visualise what our intention is:

Kind regards,

Drago

Hi Drago,

I think that you'll be able to do that by :
1. Creating a custom field and by setting :
- The "Table" to product
- The "Back-end Form" to YES
2. Editing your "listing_div" file of your "product" view of your front-end template through "Hikashop->Display->Views"

Hope this will help you a little.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for your help, took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to make it.

I got confused for a while wondering why you suggested that I edit the "listing_div" but when I read closer I think you meant editing the listing view of the template I am using for the category listing, which in my case is "listing-image-title.php"

I have one more question though. In the custom fields interface I know what most of the options mean, but I cannot figure out what the "Back-end Listing" option is for. Can you please tell me what it does?

Kind Regards,

Drago.

It allows you to display or not a column on the products listing for that custom field.
