order list of characteristics

Hi, I got a question regarding characteristics:
I use sizes for shoes as characteristics, and I forgot to use a default value "choose your size"
My variants are allready made but the default value (size) is now: 'size 34' If I do not select an item from the variants pulldown and order,
the size 34 is not put in the cart (I understand this is logical)

My question is: how can I add a value "choose your size" to the list and make it the top item in the list.

Thanks for reading!

Hi,

If you have the 34 size pre selected in the dropdown, it will add it to the cart when you click on add to cart.
Isn't that the case ? Could you give a link to that product page?

If you want to add a characteristic value, go in your characteristic and add the value, then go in your product select it as default and in the "manage variants" area of the product, create a new variant with that value selected and a quantity of 0.

Yes that is the case (but not always..)
Also when I delete a product in the minicard, another product (always a product from the options on the page) sometimes appears in it.
Here is a link: www.mariposita-danceshoes.com/nl/Schoene...uccicante-rosso.html
thanks for the variants solution!

That's because you have a products listing module with add to cart buttons embedded in your product description.
These buttons breaks the main add to cart button of the page.

One thing you can try is to move the hikashop_product_id_main block of code AFTER the hikashop_product_description_main block of code in the show_default view file via the menu Display->Views.
That should circumvent the problem.

Thanks Nicolas,

I finised this by disabeling the ad to cart button of the 2 products, because moving that piece of code did not have any effect.
The other products were bigger categories, and these 2 were the only ones with that button.
What I made on the productpages is my idea of custumising a product.
It is not really an ideal situation, but it's what i could make.
Do you have other suggestions of maybe doing this better?

thanks, Roy

If moving that code didn't change anything, it's probably because you were editing it for the wrong template. Make sure that you're doing it for the front end template you're using.
