The slider ? I think you're talking about the "carousel".
Please also be careful with the word "article" ; it is generally define the Joomla article, while we are using the word "product" in HikaShop.
The "carousel" is a product listing module ; which mean that it is based on the product listing settings.
You cannot pick products manually but you can select one single category and display the products into that category (and depending your setting, also the sub categories).
We generally recommend to use "unpublished categories" in order to group the products you want to display in your modules.
Thanks to that you can have categories like "featured products" ; which will be unpublished so not visible for customers in the general category listing, but still available for product listing modules.
