SOLVED: PayPal Merchant Shipping Error

Joomla 1.5.22
HikaShop 1.5.4

Upon checkout via PayPal, the PayPal website returns the error:

Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.

And the user's cart contents are then lost upon return to the website.

I have tried with "Address Override" both on and off, but receive the same error.

An important note, I am in the USA and have configured only the USA Zone for shipping, payment, and the like. However, when checking out in HikaShop a customer's US address is shown incorrectly, which may be leading PayPal to have issue reading the address.

Shipping addresses are showing as:

Customer Name
PO Box 1234
99999 City State

But the address should be formatted as:

Customer Name
PO Box 1234
City, ST 99999

If someone could point me where to make this adjustment, I can give it a shot. I have an older version (1.5.0) of Hikashop on another website (Joomla 1.5.23), which doesn't produce these errors with PayPal. Unfortunately the current website is hosted with a company that is not allowing write privileges on their "custom web app" installs just yet, so I can't tinker with the component or plugin files just yet.

Much appreciation to any and all who can provide insight!

Hi,

That's the same problme as reported there:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/forum/3-bug-...o-address.html#23097

On your address display, I don't see the country. Did you remove the custom field for the country ? That would explain why it doesn't work.

The address template can be changed to the way you want to display it via the menu Display->Views. There, you need to edit the files (one in the front end and one in the back end) "address_template".

That was the solution, thank you! I did not know those templates were there. And I did read through the Documentation first, I swear.

This did not work for me and I am getting the same error. What paypal settings do you use?

---UPDATE---
I changed settings around in the paypal plugin and all is well!

Yes, that worked when making the address override set to no. However, what if I want the override set to yes. How can it be corrected with allowing that option?

Then you could try to toggle the "Customer address" and/or the "no address" options.
