Problems with checkout after update to 2.2.0

I'm having some problems with checkout after the update. I have simple registration with password and login turned on to make sure customers are logging into the site. After a customer adds something to the cart and goes through checkout, they are stopped right after the shipping method is chosen. I am using the USPS module exclusively for shipping. The customer can select the shipping method they want and click next. They are then logged out of their account and dropped right back where they were without any shipping amounts added to the total. If they log back into their account, it puts them right at the shipping selection again. It seems that the user is logged out when trying to select their shipping and cannot proceed past this point.

As a note, the automatic update didn't work to bring Hikashop to 2.2. I tried to use the zip file to manually update and it wouldn't uncompress, it was corrupted. I finally downloaded the tar file and that seemed to work, but now I've got some problems. All of this was tested out before and it worked just fine, so I'm assuming something broke during the update, but I don't know what or why or how to fix it. Thanks.

Can you download the last version of Hikashop through our website, install it, and test it again ?

I just reinstalled the newest download over top of what was there, and it appears to have corrected the OP problem but now I have a new one. After I go to the checkout for the first time after adding an item to the cart I get a USPS error at the top. I get the rates pulled and can select one and continue past it. It seems to only happen the first time after adding the item to the cart. If I go back to proceed to checkout or navigate to another place on the site and come back, it doesn't do it. It's odd.



USPS error: -2147219434 First Class mail must weigh 13 ounces or less.
Failed to obtain shipping quotes.



I'm sure it has something to do with a configuration, but it's never returned this error before.

Can you test it with this last version of the USPS shipping method ?

I just tried the attached shipping method file, but there were no changes in behavior. When I look in the Plugin Manager, the version of the Hikashop USPS Shipping Plugin is 0.0.2 and was published in July 2011, That seems a bit odd. I even completely removed the shipping method and uninstalled the existing plugin before installing the attached. Either way, nothing changed.

ok, but can you check if your order exceed 13 ounces ?

The error pops up no matter what, as long as First Class shipping is checked as an available shipping method. If the First Class options are unchecked, no error pops up (I suppose that would be obvious if First Class isn't even being requested in the rates pull). The rates for all the other methods checked still seem to come through, and the checkout process can continue, however, First Class just doesn't seem to be functioning at all, under 13 ounces, above 13 ounces, either way it fails.

I tested it with an order which was under 13 ounces and it worked fine.

The testing was my mistake, I didn't save the weight of the package I wanted to test, sorry about that, you are correct, it does work correctly if the package can be shipped via First Class mail. However, if the shipment exceeds the 13 ounce limit, shouldn't the first class option just not show? Is there a way I can turn off the raw UPSP error code that's appearing? Visitors and customers should never see a debug error code like that, I can't imagine that being the correct operation of the component. If it's something I'm missing, I can't find it, but if showing the error like that is the default, is there any instruction as to how I can hide it from view? As I move forward with all my websites, I am going away from VirtueMart and moving to Hikashop, so I need to make sure I know all the in's and out's of the system. Thanks.

You're right, I've done some modification through the USPS code so your customer won't see the "13 ounce error".

Thank you for the code update. Your support for your products is stellar. This is what separates multiple components that fill the same functional space in the Joomla ecosystem. Many developers make it and forget about it, but I believe after a product launches is where the real work begins, and at every turn you guys have always come through. Thank you for your help, you have made my work much easier and more enjoyable. I look forward to when I can bring all my customers to the most current Joomla running Hikashop!!
