You can't and you don't have to.
The created status is just a "must have" because we can't create an order which is already confirmed, cancelled, refunded or shipped.
Some times, you have to create the order before paying it. You can redirect the use to authorize if he doesn't have an order. Otherwise he will have nothing to pay.. because he has no order.
But we have in HikaShop a cron plugin which change the order status of "old" created orders to cancel. So, if the customer does not pay the order in the X minutes, the order will be cancelled automatically.
It requires a cron task configure for that (configured by you or provide by us with commercial version of HikaShop).
