Checkout without registration

Hi,

I am using joomla 3.0 and hikashop 2.1.1

My problem is when a customer wants to check out i want him to fill in his address for delivery and payment method, at this stage it is saying register. I have changed the configuration "login > no", "registration > No Registration" but still doesn't allow it because when the form is filled in and "register" is selected it only reloads the page.

So basically I just need the form without registration and then proceed to checkout.

Another problem that I picked up is with language, I changed the:
LOGIN_OR_REGISTER_ACCOUNT=""
HIKA_REGISTRATION=""
HIKA_REGISTER="Validate address"

and when I hit save it adds \ everywhere on the backend and front end, see the attachment

How can I fix and change this.

Hi,

For the \ issue, that's because your server has magic quotes enabled:
forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=706&t=787484
It is a requirement for Joomla 3.x that magic quotes are disabled on the server. So you should deactivate that on your web server (you can ask your hosting company for that) and it will then work fine.

If the page only reloads, it's probably that there was a problem with some of the data entered (for example, the vat number not valid). There should actually be an error message displayed telling you what is the problem. If you don't see the message, it's probably that your template is not displaying messages:

Thanks for the reply,

I had a look at the whole checkout story.

When I went through the checkout, I entered with my admin Details, it allowed me to checkout but came the 2nd time it just kept reloading the address page:

Then when I go back to the admin panel and delete the order aswell as customer (which has my admin email) I can then go through the whole checkout process again but the next time it just reloads the address page until i delete the customer and order profile again.

I don't know if I am doing something wrong?

My checkout workflow is Login_address,payment_cart_confirm,end

My configuration registration settings are:

I have contacted my host about the magic quotes but have not yet had a reply. If they refuse to disable it as I know some hosts do what else can I do about the whole \ problem?

Your HikShop settings are fine, but you don't talk at all about your template while the solution I gave was about fixing your template, not about changing something in the HikaShop configuration.

For the language, simply upload manually the HikaShop translation file via FTP in the folder languages/en-GB on your website and use the joomla language manager's override system to do the modifications. That should avoid the issue and produce the same result.

Hi,

Thank you for the language solution, it worked.

My template does not have that option that is stated on the given link but i have added the <jdoc:include type="message" />
just before the <jdoc:include type="component" /> in the templates index.php.

There are no error messages displayed?

Hi,

Can you give a link to your shop so that we can look at that registration form ?

I'm having the same issue - I want a checkout where the customer enters their e-mail address and address details but does not have to register or login - The checkout process asks the customer to 'login or register' despite the 'no login' and 'no registration' options being set - OK - found I can change the text through editing the 'language' so a solution that will work

If the options are set to no the login shouldn't display.
could you please post some screenshots of your configuration?

Hi,

We are working on some new options for the "registration" process in the checkout.
I add your question/request into the issue tracker in order to test it and improve if required, as soon as possible.
