No confirmation email sent at order status change

Hi,

Everything has been working fine until I changed to a different payment processor. Now when the customer checks out and completes payment, the order status does change to "confirmed" but a confirmation email is not sent to the customer and the notification is not sent to me. Both customer and I receive the order created email but just not the confirmed one. This is really important as the confirmation email contains the download link for digital goods.

If I manually go in the back end and change the order status to "created" and then back to "confirmed" and check the box to notify the customer, it WILL then send out the confirmation email. So the system IS capable of sending it. It just doesn't do it when the status changes.

I realize the initial conclusion would be to think it is the plugin for the new payment processor, but what makes me think otherwise is the fact that the order status IS changed to confirmed, just no email is sent. Sounds like a problem on the Hikashop level?

Any ideas of how I can get the confirmation email to start sending again?

Forgot to mention...I also update Hikashop to the latest version at basically the same time as I changed payment processors. So that could be another possible reason?

Hi,

What is the plugin used for the payment ? Is it developed by our team ?
Do you had overrides on the order status notification email ?

Thanks for your help. It is the 2Checkout plugin that is advertised on update/upgrade page of the Hikashop component.

I'm not sure how to check if I have overrides on the order status notification emails. I have not knowingly done anything, but if you will let me know how to check, I will do that and let you know.

Then the issue is probably in the payment plugin which doesn't tell HikaShop to send the email (it's up to the payment plugin to say if he wants hikashop to send the notification or not when changing the status of an order). So I would recommend to check on that with the support of the plugin you're using.

Hummm... I just checked with him and he says that Hikashop is the one that sends the email. Can you think of anything I can do to get the confirmation emails going?

I am wondering if it could have anything to do with my recently updating to the latest version of Hikashop?

Yes, and that's what I said. It's HikaShop which sends the email. But only if the payment plugin tells him to send it.
If it works with another payment plugin and not that payment plugin, like you said previously, then it's coming from the plugin. If however it doesn't send the email regardless of the payment plugin, then it's coming from a configuration in HikaShop.

Hi,

There are too many payment plugins to give you a precise list.
Most of them send an email on confirmation, like paypal.
But the list should be first filtered by your currency.

Jerome or Nicolas,

What would it take to have you do a 2Checkout payment plugin that actually works? We have been trying to make this other one work for weeks now and I need something that works. Everything is fine except that it won't send out a confirmation email when the 2Checkout API changes the order status to "confirmed". It doesn't matter to me whether you modified the current plugin I am using or built a new one. Could you give me some sort of idea of cost that would be involved?

The 2Checkout plugin has been made by MintJoomla
It is not a plugin we made so, we might take a look at the plugin in order to see if there is a problem but just to warn you, we can't make you any promise. The best is to contact MintJoomla for problems related to their plugin.
But, like I said, you can send the plugin to nicolas (@hikashop.com) and he will take a look.

If it does not work just tell me. It is not hard for mee to look into it. On our forum you did not respond anything and I thought it is working. But if it is not provide me admin access and I'll check why.

We are official 2CO integrators. We know 20 inside out. There is not one who will make plugin better. If someone stack with 2CO integration we are one who consalt and help.
