online VAT control success if field is empty

Hello,
I've settled ON the online vat number control.
During the checkout process, when company field is filled and Company's VAT Number is empty the software apply the rules of online VAT control success (it doesn't add VAT).

It's a big problem because it validates the order even if there is not any Company VAT Number and I'm getting wrong payment!

Hikashop version: VAT HikaShop [1403011738]

What have I to do?

Hi,

We don't have the problem on our end. This indicates that the tax rules are not configured correctly. Please provide a screenshot of the listing of tax rules (menu System>Taxes) on your website.

Hello,
Herewith you can find the screenshot.
The shop is located in Spain, taxes should be applied to spanish persons and companies, to all EU persons, EU companies with not EU-VAT-Number (here is where the script fails) while should NOT be applied to EU companies with verified EU-VAT-Number.
The online verification works fine as long as (in checkot process) I left blank both Company name and VAT Number fields, or if I fill out both Company name and VAT number fields. I I fill only the company name (leaving empty VAT number field), the online verification accepts it as veriefied and doesn't include VAT in the bill.

I see that you have twice the "individuale" rule for España in your tax rules listing to it might help not having duplicates.
Otherwise, I would recommend to also check the "Default address type" option of the configuration of HikaShop and make sure that it's still set to its default value 'individual' or it won't select the correct type of client for your addresses even if your tax rules are correct.

Hello,
I'm still stuck with this problem.
I've disabled the second "individuale" rule for España in tax rules (and yes, the script default address type is on individual) but still the script doesn't apply the VAT by entering ONLY the company name.
Please, help me as any time customer fill this field to add some more info the script doesn't add the VAT and this is a big problem!

Hi,
yes it is working.

As we have a protected connection (https) since few days, probably you still have in cache the old one. I had to clean my cache following a tutorial I found on the net because I have got the same error just after started the protected connection.

ok, once you get the 500 error just add '?option=com_hikashop' in navigation bar and load the page.
It works. Don't ask me why, I'm still investigating.

Hi,

Just to inform that it is still not possible to access to the admin panel.
Last checks redirect us to the front-end website ; it's not possible to log-in in the backend, we can not see the backend login page.

Hi,

Thanks for the PM with working credentials.
I don't know if Nicolas did not update the thread when he manage your message by the contact form ; but it was not working when I tested it two weeks ago.
Well ! Your PM contains valid account, so I was able to access to your website.

The first part is that you can use the HikaShop "zone" in order to create a specific tax zone.
Thanks to it, you can create (or edit) a tax zone, like "Europe" and include all countries that you have to tax.
It will be easier to have one single entry in the listing than every countries.

The other point I see is that, you do not have rule for "company without tax number".
So I think that is the reason of your problem. When a company does not have a valid VAT number, HikaShop won't find any tax rule in your configuration.
So you should add an entry for that companies too.
