Let client upload photo during check-out

I would like to make a shop where customers can order painted oil paintings based on their images. Hence they must be able to upload a photo of the object either when they set the specs of the painting or before they check out. How do I add this option?

You have to use the custom fields in the table "item" to display the upload on the product view or in "order" to display it during the checkout, for the field type option select "Ajax image". And it's done.

These custom fields are available in the business edition of HikaShop.
