Hi guys,

Is there any update on the pre/post tax discount issue?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

You said that the option was already setup like I told you, but I didn't told you how it should be set, I only told you to change it (so to set it the the other value that you already had selected).
So if you didn't toggle the field, it's normal that you still have the problem.
Please follow my directions and it should help.

Hi Nicolas,

Your suggestion has fixed the issue with the incorrect discount calculations.

We now only have one remaining problem with the total calculation.

The system is calculating the tax on the pre-discount total not the post discount total.

I have attached a screen shot to show the issue.

How do we modify the config to get the desired result?

Regards,

Mike

So regarding the taxes and discounts there are two options which control that:
- The "Apply discount" option of the configuration
- The "Tax category" option of the discount itself
So you have four possible combinations in order to cover the different cases necessary for everyone.
If you don't get the result you want, it means that you don't have the correct combination for your need.
So try changing the tax category of your discount and see if that helps.

Hi Nicolas,

In the Product tax category we have three options None, ITBMS, or Panama Default Tax Category (shown in screen shot). If I choose either ITBMS, or Panama Default Tax Category I get the tax worked out on the pre-discount amount.

All the products have a tax category of Panama Default Tax Category - so I think that using Panama Default Tax Category in the coupon is correct.

However the problem lays with the Apply discounts in the Configuration.

1. If I set Apply discounts to be before taxes (before taxes screen shot) the overall total is correct but the discount is wrong

2. If I set Apply discounts to be after taxes (after taxes screen shot the overall total is incorrect but the discount is correct

I would be more than happy for one of your team to log into my admin account and check why this mystery occurs in the set up

Regards,

Mike

Hello Nicolas,

This ticket has now been open 6 weeks and is causing me major embarrassment.

I have explained that the calculations are wrong and cannot for the life of me find a configuration where the discount and the taxed amount is correct.

All I am asking is that one of your team log onto my admin and verify if it is a set up or coding error so taht we can put this issue to bed.

Thanks,

Mike
