Customised shopping/checkout re customer behavior

Can I customise workflow and insert pages of my own OR insert content. I'm looking at customer behavior and when should I intervene; for example when they stall in the checkout; when they are browsing an item and stall; when they browse an item and then move to another one; when they try to exit the site. All these are situations which I'd like to intervene in; offering cross or up-sell, discount, extra services etc. Can you please advise if HS is capable of doing any of this? Are there plugins from HS or Joomla I can use to help me? Thanks
