"Proceed to Checkout" not working in cart

I was thinking that you were using the third component JoomSEF.
I can read in a post:

The htaccess is set to Joomla-Standard (just Rewritebase is set to "/").

NO - I dont youse the third component Joomsef!!! I wrote that before... there are no other third components installed.

I just put the very simple Joomla-Standard function to "on" (I think that nearly every Joomla User would do this!!). This is a normal Joomla-function and NO third party thing. This function is put in every professional installation to on. PLEASE LOOK ATTACHED SCREENSHOT - you find that function in every fresh Joomla-Installation.

If Hikashop is not able to handle this ... sorry ... I just have to say that Hikashop is a nice idea but full of bugs. It cant be possible that this Joomla-Standard-function causes that Hikashop is nearly useless (Button "PAY NOW" not working!?!?!).

Sorry, but I cant believe it! Do you have another idea why the button "Pay Now" is not working? I am just frustated and thinking about to switching to Virtuemart. Sorry, so far Hikashop seem to be the shop-system I am looking for and the handling is nice - but what should I do if very simple and essential functions are not working well ("PAY NOW")?

Maybe you have an idea ... it would be sad if I had to do all the work again with Virtuemart ...

@bittrapper: This "Pay now" button, is that the button displayed on a page just before the redirection to PayPal ?
If it is, so it is not related with the previous issues. Which browser is using the customer ?

Yes, it is the button that comes up before you are redirected to Paypal. In my case, is only see it a few seconds and the Browser jumps to Paypal (thats OK)!

My customes said that the button has no function and nothig happens - they are using Google Chrome!
