user points problem

I'm trying to use the user points but the computation on the front end is not correct.

When you purchase the item and check your orders it is correct, the computation on checkout is the one with issues

example
hockshop user point = 10000
item purchase = 2,000

configuration is below

the results is

You have 10000 User Points.
You can use 1248 Points to have a discount of 1,248.00 PHP.
Do you want to use these Points ?

im not confident on the upgrade at the moment because we have a lot of customizations on the site. honestly we just launched the cart capability this october 15 and we want to hang on to our installation until the end of december.

is there any forums threads or tips i can check out to try to resolve my issue?
