Problems saving menu options -->infinite loop

Hey,
I am just trying the starter edition on Joomla 1.7.3 .
Unfortunately, I cant save my menu options (product listing). The product category and number of columns are always empty after save.
Also the frontend runs into an infinite loop, calling this menu item.

Any idea, whats running wrong here?

I have now uninstalled everything and deleted the hika tables, but the error is still the same. After assingning the menu, the page will be displayed correct with title but with no content. After saving the hika menu options, the error occures again...

Hi,

Are you creating your menu as explained in the tutorial here www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...splay-front-end.html via the joomla menu manager ?

These loop errors comes from the fact that the hikashop options of your menu where not saved. Do you get any errors when saving them ? Did you try to activate the debug mode of the joomla configuration to see if you got more information in the problem when you saved the options ?

Hey,

Yes, I have done it with the joomla menu manager. It occures no error, but some fields are empty after saving. I don't need to change anything. Just call the page and save: deleted values. I have activated the error output and attached a webarchive with the page.

hu,

it runs locally with MAMP (on OS X 10.58 php is 5.35). No idea how to manage this.

But I have just done a clean installation with joomla 1.7.3 and as the only addition the hika starter. Same result.

This is the message on the hika option page after saving:

You just saved a category listing menu without setting an associated module for it.
If you want to display a product listing below the category listing, you need to add an associated product listing module.
You can do so automatically by clicking here
Successfully Saved

It's not an error. It just says that you don't have an associated module.

Unfortunately, we don't have that problem on our end so hard to say anything.

Could you move your website to an online server so that we can access it ?

I have just installed it on my server and - no bug.
So it's related to the local installation. But where could I look for the problem? php-version? rights management? damaged config file? any Idea?

Mmm. Hard to say. Could you activate the debug mode of the joomla configuration and try again ? If it's a MySQL error, you should see a big error message.

strange thing.

yesterday it ran after changing my php.ini to

dbx.colnames_case = "lowercase"

today i wanted to proof, set it back -> error again

and again to

dbx.colnames_case = "lowercase"

and astonishingly it has no effekt, the problem remains...


But before digging deeper, I have two question:


1.
I need the hika shop for selling downloadable files.
So I tested the function on your demo and saw that the download-link is not encrypted.

so, the shopper could change the order_id and the file_id in his download link and download everything from other orders.
Or is there something preventing, which I did not saw?


2. I would like to have graduated prices, like often seen in software distributions.

The Product price of 50$ is for 1-5 Users-no rebate.
2-10 User: 2*price*10% rebate
11-20 User:3*price*20% rebate
and so on up to 1000 users

( so quantity 1-5 ends in the same price: 50$,
quantity 5-10 ends in 90$,
11-20 ends in 160$,
and so on)

have you any idea how to manage this without adding many fields to every single product?

Hi,

1. Indeed the parameters are not encoded because there is no need for it. If you try to download a product or to display an order which is not yours, it won't allow you to see/download it. How it knows ? When you're logged in, the system can easily know the orders of the current user and the files of the products of these orders.

2. That's really easy to do in HikaShop. When you set the price of a product, you can actually add additional prices and set a minimum quantity for each price.
You could just have prices like that:
price min qty
$50 1
$45 2
$40 10
...etc...

1. great. Excuse my misconception.
2. but this would result in
1*$50=$50
10*$40=$400.
what I would like to do is:
1-5 license=1*$50=$50
5-10 licenses=(2*$50) *95% = $95

Hi,

It's not possible to have the same total price for different quantities of the product unless you create a hikashop price calculation override plugin. There is some documentation for that here: www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...tation.html#override

Otherwise, you could create a "licenses pack" characteristic with two values (1-5 and 5-10), add it to your product, and then set the price for each variant of the product.
