Error on saving product because of case sensitive filename

Hi,

I migrated a Joomla 3 webshop to Joomla 4. Now I am using PHP 8.0.20 that seems to be more case-sensitive in filenames.

In the hikashop database alle filenames are lowercase, but some of the real filenames in my webshop have uppercase letters. When trying to save a product that has at least one uppercase letter, I get "error saving" message.

I have renamed all files to lowercase and now it works, but maybe you can have a look at this problem also.

Hi,

Which file did you change ? As far as I know, all the files in HikaShop are lowercase.
Also, I don't see why having an uppercase in the product name would be linked to an issue with a file name.
Could you provide more information on the situation ?

Hi,

I did not change a php-file, but renamed the filenames of the jpg images that contained uppercase characters. Setting them to lowercase solved the problem.

Hello,

We process some tests with this configuration php 8.1/Joomla 4.2.3/ HikaShop 4.6.2.
In details :
1°) I try to create a folder with uppercase then put inside an img, then I link it to a product (ex: Folders/name_file.png)
2°) Same for an image with an uppercase in image name (ex: Name_file.png)
3°) Even with the file format (ex: name_file.PNG)

Without be able to see any issue, if you are able to reproduce your previously described issue, we are very interested to know more about this error.

Hello,

Just to let you know that in the past 3 months I have done about 5 migrations to Joomla 4 with HikaShop and I did not get the same problem with case-sensitivity. Reproducing the issue now is not possible because I don't have a backup of that configuration anymore.
