Just a stupid question about paypal payment syste?

Just wanted to have a few more informations :
When a customer purchase something throught paypal .; when the customer is leaving the website the first time it does create the order in the database ... is there a return from paypal afterwards ? saying ... paid in the administration ...
That's a fool question ... but I didn't test payment yet..
