Hello,

by now I know that we can edit views with hikashop savely, using the backend admin interface.
In case something goes wrong, I can fetch the original and delete my custom view.

In case I need to apply the original file, is there an easy way to find the changes I have previously applied?
The only thing that comes to my mind is something like UltraCompare, which I can use to compare the files and changes.

Just wanted to ask, how you keep track of changes.

Hi,

I usually use the software called WinMerge to compare the override file with the original file after downloading them via FTP (the original files' path is components/com_hikashop/views/xxx/tmpl/yyy.php while the override files' path is templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/xxx/yyy.php ).

While looking into it, I found this code.iamkate.com/php/diff-implementation/
We'll see if we can add that on our end to make it easy to see changes.

Might be a good pro feature.

Left side original up to date file, right side current overview in use.

While comparing and changing left side (current original), the file would actually save as a new override version. This way we would have a history of changes.

You could also track which, joomla user (id) edited the view.

Hello,

You are right, so right besides that I can already tell you that we are already working on this feature which could happen faster than you think.

Regards
