Hi there,

I'm using the Hikashop Filtering Module on my site. Is there any way to find out what users are searching for?

This would be nice to know as we could use the data to find out what customers are looking for.

Thanks!

Hi,

There is no such logging system. But that's a good idea to add in the future to the filter system.

Hi,

if you use some form of analytics to analyze your website traffic (such as Google Analytics), it is actually possible and not too difficult to track all searches.
If for example you have a filter called "filter_Search_1" you can create a statistical report of all visited url's which have this term included, then you can see what customers have been searching for.

Hopefully this can be of help.

I hear that Google Analytics takes a lot of time but I guess I can give it a try - when I find the time...

Hopefully this can be added to Hikashop filter system sometime soon.

Thanks for the info.

Hi,

It's on our todo list. But it's not simple to add.

The trick proposed by GW is a simple way to get what you want. Adding GA on your website is quite easy:
www.joomlashine.com/blog/install-google-...ytics-in-joomla.html
And once you have that, you can have views and filters on your GA account and know what terms are used :

I'm setting up Google Analytics and I'm stuck trying to create a filter to exclude my IP address. When I go to create a filter I get this message.

Displaying Filters for Universal Analytics Properties only. Filters cannot be applied to Google Analytics 4 Properties.

Does anyone know how to get a "Universal Analytics Property". All the information that I find is taking me in circles. I need to add a filter so that I can exclude my IP address as this is important for the stats.

Thanks!

I found it - I think. It was really hidden - not sure why.

Admin > Data Streams > Web Stream Details > Additional Settings > More Tagging Settings > Define Internal Traffic

Thanks!
