Incredible...I havent´t seen it....I just looked in the display-tab in the configuration. Yeah, a little bit confusing. Okay, I entered "Autor", but in the search in the frontend : nothing changes....The settings are similar to the two items shown. Maybe it´s the table ? It´s a custom field, not included in the component, please see files attached. Thanks a lot for your first class support.

Hi,

No, you don't want to create a new filter. You want to edit the filter Produktbezeichnung. On the options page of this filter, you'll find an option where you can select the fields on which the search will be done. And there, you can select your custom product fields.

Hi, it´s just confusing. Please see attached file. I hope, I understood it right, but there is no result in the frontend. You still see "Preis" and "Produktbezeichnung"...

Hi,

Yes, this will allow you to search on the different fields via this filter.
If it doesn't work, then the problem is elsewhere.
In that case, you must be using a filter module to display the filter, and in the settings of that module, you must have selected a "menu" which doesn't list all your products by default, or the "force redirect" setting is turned off.

Hi,
yes, I use the hikashop filter modul. If not, no search is shown. "force redirect" is on. I checked all menus which I allow to show the filter. Nowhere is an option "list all products"....

In the menu option of your filter module, you configured the menu item with the id 406.
So you need to check the setting under the products options tab of this menu item with the id 406 via the Joomla menu manager.

Hi,

The setting look fine on your screenshot but I don't know your language so I might have missed something.

Could you provide the URL of the page with instructions to reproduce the problem and détails on the situation please ?

Hi Nicolas,
this is the site with category-listing wehre the search-items should appear:
zeitkaufhaus.de/de/zeitlaeden/zeitkaufhaus-ladenkategorien
I have no idea where to set the options to make the items appearing.
Have a nice sunday
Martin

Hi,

Well, it seems to be working fine as far as I can see there.
For example, if I search for "Stadt", I get results where this text is in either the product name or the author field:

So I'm not sure what the problem is ?

Hi,
yes, that´s no problem - or better almost no problem. I already wrote: If you look for a term like "book", the result ist listing books, but also words like "Booking" or "booklet".
But the real problem is:
I want to search for author, editor, year,...Like on booklooker: ig I´m look for a book of the 70ths, I want a field like the price function whre I can set Book from 1970 to 1980..please see example from eurobuch.de

Hi,

Well, there is no problem doing that.
Create a custom product field of the type "single dropdown" and in the "values" of the field, you can enter the different years.
Then, in your products you can select the year in the field.
And then, you can create a filter like the price one, but change it to be based on that custom field instead of the price.

Hi Nicolas,
hope, I understood all right.
I made the field "Jahr" (year), please see settings on the file.
Than I created in hikashop-display-filter a new filter with the same settings as in the price-filter (please see attachment).
There is no result in the frontend. I only see price and name of product.
BUT: I found a solution ! You have to put the values in the filter-modul in "Filters". Than, i get really the items in the frontend! But the final problem: I set "Verlag" exactly like "autor", but Ican´t select it as filter in the filter-modul....

Hi,

I would need screenshots of the settings of the Verlag filter and the corresponding custom field.

Hi,

I would recommend writing directly the namekey of the filter in the input field of the option if possible.
Otherwise, updating HikaShop would probably help as we changed the filter selector in the filter module a while back and it works better.

Hi,
I don´t know why, but it´works! I see "Verlag" in the frontend. Maybe it needs a little time..
Thank you very much for your first class support.
Kind regards
Martin
