associated module

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3
-- PHP version -- : x.x.x
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : XXXXX x.x.x
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Error_message
I'm having trouble configuring it to look as i want it.
maybe I'm getting it's all wrong.
must i have an associated module for every category?
can't i just display the items by pointing a menu item to a category?
I'm lost here.
please help.

Of course, you can create and have a menu item without any module associated with it.
If you accidentally made an association, or HikaShop did so automatically, you can from the backend, -> Display -> Content menus, select the menu item, click on "Select" next to "Associated modules", deselect it in the popup and ok it, then "Save" the menu item.
