Guest checkout for downloadable products

Our store is setup so that people can checkout as guests and don't need to register on the site. We've just recently added digital products for download. When we change the status of the order to "confirmed" the user gets an email with that information as well as a link to the file so that they can download it, however; the link redirects them to a login page which they can't do anything with because they don't have a login.
