I'm trying to build a very small and simple online shop, my customers don't like the idea that they have to register an account and login before they can place orders, so I am planning to build the shop using paypal buttons, which will lead customers to paypal page to checkout. I can manually add paypal buttons for every item I'm selling, but as my business grows, there are more and more products to add, so it won't be a wise idea to do that. Furthermore I want the products to be more organized and the layout more attractive, so my question is:
can hikashop work with paypal without requiring users to login? Or more specifically, can hikashop generate paypal checkout buttons with product informations having been input?

Hi,

First, to remove the registration and have a guest checkout, it's really easy to do. Just change the option "registration" of the Checkout tab of the configuration to "guest". That way, your users won't have to create an account on your website before going to PayPal after the checkout.
Second, we have integrated with the PayPal express checkout gateway which allows you to completely skip the HikaShop checkout and go directly from the cart to PayPal. You can configure it via the "new" button of the menu System>Payment methods in HikaShop.

I have created a payment method using PaypalExpress Plugin, but on the checkout page, there is an error message saying no payment method found.
Then I try creating a payment method using PaypalStandard Plugin, this time ,only this payment method shows. I guess there is something wrong with my setting for PyapalExpress. What could it be?

P.S.: I've made sure the plugin is published. So I guess the problem is with the "Specific Configuration" section. Not knowing what to fill, I leave it as it is. I also click "help" to see instructions, but there is an HTML error on this page and it is not helpful. So how do I fill out those API blanks?

And why do I not need to fill these "API" blanks with PaypalStandard?

Hi,

The PayPal Express Checkout payment method is not a normal payment method as it won't display on the payment method selection of the checkout. Instead, it will display an "Express checkout" button on the cart in order to skip the HikaShop checkout altogether (that's the purpose of PayPal express checkout).
So it's normal that you see that error when you only configure PayPal Express checkout. If that's the only payment method you want to use, you want to remove all the views of the checkout except "cart" so that the checkout only displays the cart with the express checkout button.

It's normal that you get an error when trying to see the documentation page of PayPal Express Checkout because we didn't wrote it yet.

PayPal Express checkout is a different way of connecting to PayPal than PayPal Standard. PayPal requires different information for the different ways of connecting to their servers. The "API" fields need to be filled with the API information that PayPal provides you in your PayPal Express Checkout user account on their website. I would recommend to contact their technical support for more information on that.

Thank You! I have got the correct API credential including username, password and signature, I also changed the API version to the current version 116. But when I click button "check out with paypal" I have got this error message:
Connection failure - error code : 10525 , error message : This transaction cannot be processed. The amount to be charged is zero.

Please help.
