Hi,

This looks like you entered an invalid URL in the "canonical URL" option of your categories.
Please empty that field and try again.

That has fixed the problem..... I have removed text in the canonical url and that has taken care of the problem , thank you. it was not a URL in the true sence of URL and hence, this problem.showed

Sorry to ask but in what format must this URL be in to be effective...... as obviously I would like diferent categories to be identified individually
Additionally how does it link with individual products (do I need to repeat this manually with each product?
In the category URL do i need to add the site name???

not very familiar with this SEO area so your help is really appreciated

The canonical URL is supposed to be set with the main URL of the product/category when you have several URLs leading to the category/product in order to avoid SEO issues.
If you don't have several URLs leading to the same product/category, you don't need to fill it.
And if you're unsure, just set the option "Force canonical URLs on listings" to "Use canonical URL and generate it if missing" in the configuration of HikaShop and HikaShop will fill it automatically when needed so you don't have to bother with it.
