Hi,

You need to add the "login" view in your "checkout workflow" option and you'll then get the billing/shipping address view displayed on your checkout.

Thanks, that fixed that one issue but, I'm still getting this error on some email addresses....

Error

Email address already used

And there is no user in the system or HS that I can see with that email address. How do I find those?

If you get that error, the only logical reason I know of is that the email address is already used by a Joomla user account.
I would recommend to double check it.

Quadruple checked. No users with that email address... This is what concerns me...

If I have users in the system, then they cannot checkout as guest, they must login?

Hi,

Yes, the users already registered on the website with their email address either have to login or use another email address.
Could you provide a backend access and the email address that you're using for the test which doesn't work so that we can see that ?

You can use our contact form for that:
www.hikashop.com/support/contact-us.html
Make sure that you also include a link to this thread.

Is there a way so that hika is disconnected from the Joomla user system so that they can re-use email addresses in a guest checkout situation?

Hi,

The issue is that the user with the email address you're using for your tests had been deleted from Joomla but not from HikaShop.
So HikaShop was still thinking that this email address was linked to a real joomla user account.
I've deleted the user reference in the HikaShop customers listing, and now it works fine.

The following user(s) said Thank You: webjive

Thanks.

BTW, where did you delete the user from in HS just in case we run into this in the future?

Hi,

That's already the case. new customers using the guest checkout will be able to re-use their email address each time.
It's only users with already a user account on the website who have to login.

I went in the Customers menu of HikaShop and deleted it from there.

Got it.. Since there are 700 users in the system, if we add Joomla login back in to HS, would that change anything for guest purchase? This way existing users could login and guest users could just use the guest form?

No problem. You can just activate the "login" option of the "login & registration" section so that the users can either login or guest checkout.
