For some reason my customers are getting notified, when someone new registers at the hikashop. How do I turn this email notification to customers off, cannot find anything about this?

Hello,
You'll be able to do that by un-publishing the "User account" / "User account administrator notification" emails via "Hikashop->System->Emails".

I made the change suggested to turn off notifications to users when a new person registers at my site.
Users are still getting messages from my site they are not happy I'm afraid they will start asking to be removed. What else can be changed to fix the problem?

Hi,

As Mohamed explained, you can disable the "user account" email via the menu System>Emails in HikaShop and HikaShop won't send the notification email to new users registering via the HikaShop registration form.
Now if you have also the joomla registration form, it has its own email notification system and Joomla has no option to deactivate that email notification, so it's normal that your users still get a notification when they register on Joomla. You would have to activate the Redirect Joomla registration to HikaShop plugin via the Joomla plugins manager in order to use the HikaShop registration instead of Joomla's so that your new users wouldn't receive the email notification regardless from where they register on your website.

If the Joomla registration is turn off will that cause the Hikashop registration problems?
I did see where mass mail can be turn off in Joomla would that help? Under Global configuration>server>Mail settings>Disable Mass Mail>toggle Yes or No

I will also study the Joomla documents, they will not tell m

e how Joomla interacts with Hikashop.

Hi,

1. If you turn off the registration of users in Joomla, HikaShop will follow that setting and the registration will be disabled in HikaShop too. Which is why I recommended, instead of that, to activate the Redirect Joomla registration to HikaShop plugin via the Joomla plugins manager.

2. If you turn off the email sending in Joomla, no email will be sent at all from your website. While that's a possibility, I don't recommend it as you won't get payment notifications, nor order notifications.
