So Customer can click on order online from the top tabs, then choose cold subs, then choose Any two meats
well it should come like a radio options either Ham and Turkey OR ham and Roast Beef OR Turkey and Roast Beef
see screenshot1

i created a custom filed like shown in screensho2 and I could not point the category to the products

so what really happen that particular custom field has been added to all the cold subs, when it has to be added to only one which is choose Two meat,
see the following sequence

as you noticed the Option has been added to all when we only need it to be added to cold Subs Any two meats like screenshoot seq4

Hi,

I am not sure to understand your question or your problem.
You create a custom field and specify in his configuration that you want to apply the item custom field on all products in the category "cold subs"

It is what you put in the custom field configuration

So, if it is not what you want, you should change your configuration to only target a category with only the products you want to target.

Hi,

For the moment we can only restrict custom fields on categories, not on products.
So a trick to have what you need is create a new category and add this category to the desired product only and restrict the custom field on that category.

Excuse me, but you seem fixed on the "custom field" solution. Why not forget about it, and instead make the 3 meat combos characteristics of the "Any Two Meats" product? You'd have 3 variants then which your customers choose from, and this would be true for this one product only.

Need help with customisations of layouts, style or other site development? PM me!

You need to create an unpublished category and add it as a second category to your product.
That way, the product will get the custom fields restricted to that unpublished category, but the category won't display on your frontend.
