-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6

So I need 3 colors with 3 package sizes.
Did it.
Set prices for if only one is selected. (9 combinations)
Is there a way to have them automatically add instead of writing the price for 27 different combinations?
without doing the 27 combos it says free instead of adding to options together this is crazy!!!
There must be a better way!

Thanks for your help in advance. I really appreciate your help. :)

Hi,

When using variants, the best is to set the main product, set its price and save it.
Then add the variants to this product, this way the variants will have the main product price. ;)

If you need different price per variants, the best way to edit many prices quickly is to export by csv, edit the csv and import it back.

That still makes if pretty complicated, instead of just adding the variants together. I still have to edit 27 variants in the csv.

I'm gonna be forced to make a single product for each variant. Which will be much easier to manage.

Is there a way to force the user to be able to only select one variant? Thus not needing all the extra steps.

I shouldn't have to tell it 27 prices for 9 selections. I should only have to 9 times (price for each selection). This is kind of ridiculous, I have to throw a price for every possible combination and this is not auto calculated.

Thanks!

Your messages are a bit confusing so I don't see where you're going.

If you create 27 products instead of one product with 27 variants, you still have to enter the price of each element.

If you have two characteristics, one with 3 values and one with 9 values (if I understood correctly), if only one characteristic changes the price of the product and not the other, then simply add the one which changes the price first and set the price for each variant of the product. Then, add the second characteristic and the system will regenerate all the variants taking the prices of the variants you already configured.

Is that what you mean by "auto calculated" ?

Sorry to confuse you.
1 product
3 color options
3 package size options

15 pack white $9.99
15 pack ivory $9.99
15 pack in zinc $8.99
25 pack white $12.99
25 pack ivory $12.99
25 pack in zinc $11.99
50 pack in white $19.99
50 pack ivory $19.99
50 pack in zinc $18.99

so 3 colors with 3 size per color making a total of 9 options but in variants it turns if 27 combinations of what if you choose this and that, Instead of just auto knowing and putting price.

is there a way to force only one variant to be selected?

Hello,
I still don't understand what 27 combinations have to do with your 9 variants.
If you really want to manage less variants, you can create 3 instances of the same product, for example :
- 15 pack of *product_name*
- 25 pack of *product_name*
- 50 pack of *product_name*
And then add your "color" characteristic, you'll finally just have to edit the price of the "zinc" variant.

Mmm. I still don't see why you would get 27 variants.

You should have 2 characteristics: color and pack
The color characteristic should have three values : white, ivory and zinc
The pack characteristic should have three values: 15 25 and 50
Then, when you add these two characteristics to your product, the system will generate 9 variants and you can set the price of each combination by editing each variant via the "manage variants" button.
That's it.
