Canonical URL

I am wondering why the Canonical URL is auto writing it self when save a new product?

What happend in the new update 2.5.0?

It only and entirely depends on your setting for "Force canonical URLs on listings".

As per documentation ( www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...ig.html#features_sef ), the system is not "auto-writing" canonical URLs if set to "No, generate the URLs". Even if canonical URLs exist, the system will not use them.

I just tested it with the last Hikashop version and the Canonical URL wasn't auto writing itself when a saved a new product.
Can you check how you have set the "Force canonical URLs on listings" option via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Features->'SEF url options'" ?

It is set to "Use Canonical URL if specified"

With that setting the canonical urls should not be auto filled themselves.
Don't you have any plugin which could be doing that, or a created mass action which will auto populate the canonucal url field when updating the product ?
