We are using two different badges in our webshop. For each badge we created a category. After adding the category of one of these badges to the specific product, the badge was shown on the product. This worked okay.

Now, after updating to 2.5.0 (on my testserver :)) I see that all products show both badges allthough they have no badge category added.
How can I resolve this and how can I prevent this from happening on my production website?

FYI: Joomla cache has already been purged.

Hi,

I don't see why the update to the 2.5.0 would change that as we didn't change anything for the badges categories restrictions on the 2.5.0. We did change things for the 2.4.0.
Did you had an older version before ? The badge categories field now accept several categories, which was not the case before so it could be related to that although no one indicated issues with badges regarding that since we did the release several weeks ago.
Could you provide screenshots of your badges settings?

Hi Nicolas,

What I did before the upgrade, was the following;
1. made Akeeba backup of production site (Joomla 3.4.1 and Hikashop 2.4.0)
2. Restored to testserver
3. upgraded testsite to joomla 3.4.2 and hikashop 2.5.0
4. Purged Joomla cache

After the upgrade, both badges (nieuw and aanbieding) were present on all products on the testserver.

I was able to resolve the problem today by:
1. Remove the existing category from each badge.
2. Save
3. Add the category that was removed in step 1 to each badge
4. Save

Regards, Benny.

This same problem happened to me at the upgrade and I was also able to fix the problem by following the directions to open each of the badges and then remove the category and save the badge. Then I had to add the category back and save the badge. At this point the badges that were displaying on the wrong product pages finally ceased to display. I am so glad I found this post because the problem was not making sense. And, the solution also does not really make sense to me. But, it worked and so I am grateful.

Hi I had this problem also and solved it by deleting the category and then adding it again.

I now find I have a problem adding new products to a 'badge' out of 6 new products only 2 are available to select? there does not appear to be a way of sorting by the 'product ID' as this would make finding a new product easier in my instance, (not so for others who prefer the products to be sorted alphabetically)

The question here is really why are 4 new products missing? I will advise that I have nearly 12,000 products so this my be having an influence? I'm guessing that a limitation is preventing them from being shown as the missing products would be after the last visible product in the category I'm searching alphabetically

thanks

Hi,

Yes, not all the products are shown in the dynamic dropdown selectors. You can start typing the letters of the name of the products in the field and the system will filter automatically the dropdown in order to display only the matching results. That should allow you to easily find any product.
