Using the Joomla autoupdater i get the error messages shown on the Extension Mgr Update screen. See also attached screen shot.

I checked our business version subscription and added in the client domain sag.org.au - and then purged and refound the update with no change, and then waited an hour and did the same purge and refind the updates with no change.

Is there a periodic update on your servers that I need to wait for before the auto update will find the registered domain?
Is there an issue with this being a subdomain of the client domain?
Can I just install the new version over the installed 2.5 version as an alternative upgrade method?

Thanks for your assistance.

David

Hi,

You need to enter the URL that the error message tells you is not found.
So if the message says that there is no licence for j3.sag.org.au/ , you want to enter j3.sag.org.au/ in your subscription. Then, purge the joomla updater cache and it will work.
But yes, you can also download the latest version install package and run it through the Joomla installer. It will do exactly the same as if you go through the Joomla updater.

Thanks Nicholas.

I thought I read elsewhere that a subdomain such as j3.sag.org.au should be recognised when the base domain such as sag.org.au was registered as the subscription domain. Certainly I would want to be able to get automatic updates on both.

In this case I did the install of the 2.6 version over the top of the installed 2.5 version without any apparent problems.
