Hi,
iám totaly new to hikashop and searched a while but could not find an answer. I wanted to create a module that displays products of a category that are free (cost=0,0) and a second one that will display products within the same category but that will cost money. Within the HikaShop Content Module i could not figure out how to filter the content to display only free / cost items.
It would be agreat help to get a little help here.
Thanks in advance

Hello Carsten,

The solution will be to :
- Create an unpublished category named "free" for example
- Add every free products to that category
- Use that category through the "Category" restriction of your product listing.

Note that you'll have to do the same for products which are not free.

Thanks Mohamed!
I didn´t get that it is possible to unpublish a category but still the products will be visible.
Is this the idea of filtering in Hika ?

I already baught a thirdparty solution that promised to do a filterung baed on price ( www.joomlaxtc.com/index.php?option=com_j...&id=2161&Itemid=1044 ) even the link in your documentation page does not lead right to the product (you might update this). But unfortunately the filtering of this module by price does not work at the moment. So your solution is very welcome!
cheers

Hi,

Thank you for pointing the issue with the link. I've updated it on our documentation page.

The filtering system in HikaShop is meant to filter the products of a listing of products displayed through a menu item.
So it won't help for the modules.

What Mohamed proposed is to set a specific second category in each product so that you can select it in your modules.
If that's fine with you, that's a solution. That just means that each time you change a product from free to priced or vice-versa, you need to change the second category of the product as well.

The JoomlaXTC module apparently can do the filtering on the listing is displays on the fly, so it might be a good alternative if it works. Otherwise, you can always contact the support of JoomlaXTC to see with them if they can fix the problem or if there is a problem in the settings of the module.
