Is enabling cache safe?

Simply from a HikaShop perspective, is it safe to enable caching in the Global Configuration? I recall there being some potential issues with caching.

I am hosting with HostGator, anyone have any issues having caching enabled for them as well?

It depend which kind of cache your are using, sometimes the cache system is too hard so it is caching some elements it should not.

In HikaShop we are handling the cache by disabling it on our parts as it is not for dynamic content like a shop especially for the shopping cart, the checkout, etc.

So you can do some test by using it, and if you see that the cart is not refreshed correctly so change or disable it.
