mod_hikashop is used to display list of categories.

The categories are not picking up correct Itemid

As a result the category titles do not display when clicked on.

Hi,

The item id used in the URLs of the categories comes from the id of the menu that you selected in the "menu" setting of your module under the "HikaShop options" tab when you edit it.
But if you activate the "force canonical URLs on listings", and that you have a canonical URL set in your categories, then instead of generating the category link with the menu item selected in the module settings, it will use the canonical URL of the category.
So if you don't get the "correct" itemid, it's either that you selected the wrong menu in the module, or that you entered a canonical URL for another menu in the category.

Still having issues. Even with Canon enabled.

If you visit www.gitchigaming.com/products/seating

Then click on "Seating" from side nav (Hika module) the URL changes.

Normally a Joomla component will pickup the proper Itemid from the menu link.

Hi,

I can't check your website:
take.ms/DDJjJ

Normally a Joomla component will pickup the proper Itemid from the menu link

You're right. That's what HikaShop does by default when you don't select any menu in the menu option of your module and don't set a canonical URL in your category/product.
In that case, the system will search for a category listing menu item and use its id automatically as Itemid for the links.
And so you don't get a 403 error in that case.
As I explained in my previous message, if you get a 403 error, it's either that you selected a wrong menu item in the menu setting of your module, or that you entered a wrong canonical URL in your category/product.

403 is due to fact RS Firewall is blocking your country. Can you try again?

"Seating" is a child category, in the Products module I set a menu option to "Products", a parent navigation link to "Seating".

Hi,

I was able to access the website and it confirms what I said.
The fact that the link changes is just because you don't have the canonical URL set in the category.
Edit your category, and in the canonical URL field, enter the URL www.gitchigaming.com/products/seating
If the "force canonical URL on listings" setting is activated, you'll get that link in the side module.

And regarding the fact that you don't get the title with the other link, it's just because you need to turn on the page heading setting of the "products" menu item.

That works, we noticed another issue.

If you visit www.gitchigaming.com/products/food-beverage-carts

Click on any product, the breadcrumbs 'resets' back to "Seating" instead of continuing with the path display UP to product name

Hi,

The breadcrumb looks correct to me:
take.ms/HsbU5
If you're talking about the category being "missing" in it, that's because the "simplified breadcrumbs" setting of the HikaShop configuration must be turned on, or you have a canonical URL in your product which doesn't include the category_pathway parameter.
