This is more of an FYI for others when upgrading.
Some of the settings for custom fields are changed during the upgrade from 2.6.4 to 3.0. In particular, I have custom product fields that are for the site owners benefit and should not be published on the frontend but they were after the upgrade.
On investigation I found that after upgrading the following custom field display settings change.
1. Product Page is replaced with Front End and the setting defaults to yes even though it was no prior to the upgrade.
2. Back-end Listing defaults back to YES even though it was no prior to the upgrade.
There may be some others but these were the settings that I had in the site I upgraded. I did the upgrade on a backup and was able to cross check the settings with the live site and verify that they had definitely changed.
Both settings are easily changed but best to be aware beforehand rather than get a call from an angry client.
