We didn't activate yet the update via Joomla for the latest release. We always wait at least a week after a release before activating it.
This way, we can get feedback from early adopters (you can still update by manually downloading the latest version install package on our website and installing it on yours) and apply hot patches if necessary before rolling out the release for everyone.
This way, it is a lot less likely that your production website will be impacted by a big issue if you don't test the updates on a pre production website.
We usually activate the update mechanism on the day we start launching the newsletter for the new release. And we're waiting for the end of the week to do so. That way, most people will be back from summer holidays when they get the email.

The only exception to this is when there is a security issue being fixed. In that case, the rollout is made on the same day and we try to minimize new features as much as possible in such a case.
