-- HikaShop version -- : 6.1.0 [2509232312]
-- Joomla version -- : 5.4
-- PHP version -- : 8.4.13

Doing a quick test on a cloned site to ascertain readiness to move from J! 5.4.0 to J! 6.0

I'm getting the dreaded "Potential Upgrade Issue" alerts on the following ...

  • HikaShop Payment Notification plugin
  • HikaShop Product TAG translation
  • Hikashop Product Tag
  • Hikashop Registration Redirect Plugin
  • HikaShop Google Dynamic Remarketing (conversion tracking)
  • System - Hikashop Social Plugin
  • User - HikaSho

Not in a rush right now but have 4 sites for clients with 6.1.0 Business installs and figured I'd start with the default site/components/modules/plugins with the only addition being HikaShop.

Thoughts?

Hi,

It's a good idea to do a test upgrade on J6.
Others did the same in the past 2 weeks that J6 has been available and we fixed several issues already since then. For example:
www.hikashop.com/forum/3-bug-report/9098...viewlist.html#369156
With your build number, I can see that you're using the 6.1.0 from the 23rd of September. So you don't have the fixes we've added since. So, before the test upgrade, I would recommend downloading again the install package of HikaShop and installing in on your website to make sure you have all the latest patchs.
That will avoid stumbling on the same issues already fixed on our end.
Besides that, you're good to go :)

Hi Nicolas,

I am taking advantage of this discussion to avoid opening additional topics.

I have HikaShop Essential 6.1.0 [2511031535] and I still have these alerts (potential issues) :

HikaShop massaction plugin
HikaShop Payment Notification plugin
HikaShop product tag translation plugin
HikaShop user synchronization plugin

According to you, Hikashop is ready for Joomla 6. So should we wait until it is fully compatible? Can we ignore these alerts? Should we disable any plugins (perhaps unnecessary ones, and if so, which ones)?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You can ignore these alerts, yes. You don't want to disable these plugins. They are necessary.

HikaShop is as compatible to J6 as it can be. At the moment, there are no known issues on Joomla 6 with the current version of HikaShop. So it is "fully compatible" and its plugins as well.
Still, it's always possible that an unforeseen issue pops up on your website when you upgrade to J6, in the same way to the issue I talked about in my previous message here, because we only had a limited amount of feedback on HikaShop on Joomla 6 for now.
So, as for any major version upgrade, I would recommend being careful about it.
And if you manage to find an issue with HikaShop on J6, report it and we'll fix it.

Thank you, Nicolas, for your quick and reassuring reply.
I was more concerned about a blank page than a bug, which can always happen. And I can count on you to fix it.
