Well, the first screenshot has the tax amount calculated for a product price in an order placed by a user on the frontend.
The second screenshot has the tax amount calculated for a product price in the backend product edit interface for your user account.
While both can be the same, they can be different.
For example, on our website hikashop.com, as per EU laws, we have to charge a different tax rate for each country of the EU based on the location of the customer, and no taxes if the customer is outside the EU. But in the backend, when I edit the price of a product, since my backend user address is in France, I see the tax amount with the French sales tax of 20%. So the price with taxes is most of the time different between what I see in the backend product edit form and what I see when I edit the order of someone, and that's normal in the case of our setup.
So, what you describe is not necessarily wrong. It could just be that you configured different tax rates in the System>Taxes menu.
That's the first thing I would recommend you checking.
Also, note that there can be rounding issues in some cases, especially when the prices have decimals and the quantities are high.
